ScribeKey — open-source hardware security keyYour passwords.
Your keys.
Your hardware.
ScribeKey stores passwords, 2FA codes, and your ETH seed — offline, encrypted, open-source. No cloud. No trust required.
ScribeKey is an open-source hardware security key that combines a password manager, TOTP/2FA authenticator, Ethereum wallet, and FIDO2/U2F token in one offline device.

> capabilities
Everything security. One device.
Password Manager
Store up to 50 entries. USB HID auto-type or BLE keyboard — no software required.
TOTP / 2FA
RFC 6238 compliant. Import via QR code. Works with Google, GitHub, any TOTP service.
ETH Hardware Wallet
BIP44 derivation, on-device secp256k1 signing via CryptoCell-310. Keys never leave.
FIDO2 / U2F
WebAuthn hardware token over USB HID. Phishing-proof login for supported sites.
Bluetooth 5.0
BLE HID keyboard for mobile. Wireless setup via browser on Android — no USB needed.
PIN Protected
4-digit PIN. Auto-lock after 60s. Long-press to lock instantly. No PIN = no access.
AI Notes & Transcription
Record voice via BLE to your phone. AI transcribes and summarises — stored encrypted on-device. Works offline.
Hermes / Openclaw Agent
BLE bridge to your personal AI agent. ScribeKey authenticates and routes encrypted context — your AI, your keys.

> getting started
Build it. Flash it. Use it.
Get the hardware
Seeed XIAO nRF52840 Sense — ~$10. Add an OLED, 4 buttons, a USB-C breakout. Total BOM under $20.
Flash the firmware
Clone the repo. One command with Arduino CLI to compile and flash. Full guide included.
Set up via browser
Open scribekey_setup.html in Chrome. Connect via USB or Bluetooth. Import passwords from CSV. Done.
$ git clone https://github.com/privatych/scribekey $ cd scribekey/ScribeKey_fw $ arduino-cli compile --fqbn Seeeduino:nrf52:xiaonRF52840Sense . $ arduino-cli upload --fqbn Seeeduino:nrf52:xiaonRF52840Sense --port /dev/cu.usbmodem* . ✓ ScribeKey v1.4 flashed successfully

What's built.
What's next.
Core Platform
Firmware, password vault, TOTP/2FA, ETH wallet signing, and the browser setup flow are already working in the current prototype.
Security, BLE, and Web Bridge
PIN protection, auto-lock, BLE keyboard mode, WebAuthn/FIDO2 groundwork, and the PWA bridge for phone-to-device workflows are in place.
Prototype Bring-Up
Parts, enclosure fit, OLED/button validation, USB HID checks, and end-to-end firmware testing are the current focus before final assembly.
Mobile App & AI Notes
Android/iOS companion flows, BLE sync, voice capture, and AI note processing are moving from experiments into a usable companion app.
Custom PCB + Production Case
Dedicated PCB, battery handling, refined enclosure, and manufacturing-friendly hardware revision after prototype validation.
Production Run
Small production batch, final QA, and pre-orders shipping as a fully assembled open hardware device.
